Spring Cleaning

With just a few days left to Chinese New Year, I gathered that I shall stop procrasinating any longer and clean up the rest of my room. Mum had cleared a fair bit for me already and I managed to clear out my wardrobe and dressing table earlier last week.

Its an annual affair for me to run through all the knick-knacks I've collected over the years. Being the sentimental me, I can never bear to throw away much of them and I always get nostalgic looking at my own "garung guni" collection. All the small gifts, cards, letters and even receipts and wrapping papers simply takes me for a walk down memory lane. And amazingly, I can actually recall who the gifts were from and on what occasion they were given to me, by simply looking at the wrapping paper!(Unfortunately I never manage to pull such a feat during examinations.)

My facial expression varied as bits and pieces of memory flashed through my mind. The paper box of the first toy he gave me, the wrinkled and yellow pink piggies wrapping paper which he used to wrap (his 1st attempt at wrapping a gift) our first anniversary gift, the receipt of the first belt I bought for him, my primary school pencil case, my first teachers' day card from my tuition kid....

A friend once told me that all these stuff should be discarded, all those that can't/would not be discarded are already stored in the heart. Memories are not susceptible to spring cleaning.

But I guess I'll just keep all those knick knacks for perhaps...another year...

My lovely room is spick and span now, and I'm most proud of it, especially of the accomplishment below. Heez~

Homeward Bound

It sure feels good to be back in Singapore. The 28 hour flight home is an ordeal with an 18-hour stopover at L.A and a 2hour stopover at Narita Airport (Tokyo), during which I made good use of the time exploring the airports. The L.A one had nothing much but Narita Airport was definitely an interesting place to explore.

Part 1: Hello Kitty Galore

Frankly, Im not a fan of Hello Kitty but I do find the Hello Kitty novelties sold at Narita rather cute, especially the snacks.

The entire Hello Kitty family faces on butter cookies. And it does come in that pretty box as well.

Can you guess what are these?

~~Hello Kitty Cosmetics~~
Don't they look like stationery to you?

So much for all that Hello Kitty stuff, hope I didn't suffocate you with that overdose of Hello Kitty merchandise. I've seen Hello Kitty cosmetics in Singapore actually but I think they are more expensive. The Japanese are really good at packaging their products. These Hello Kitty cosmetics are just a classic example. I'm sure they appeal to the children and all the Hello Kitty fans. I for one however, would not advise buying them for personal use, maybe just as collectibles.

Well, that's all for now, folks. Stay tuned for more interesting discoveries of Narita Airport. =)
